The eagerly awaited House of the Dragon trailer, which provides fans of the popular show with an excellent glimpse at the dragons, has finally been released. On Wednesday, HBO unveiled the official trailer for the show, which takes set 200 years before Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max on August 21. It will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in India on August 22.
King Viserys desires to see his preferred heir placed on the Iron Throne
At the start of the trailer, King Viserys Targaryen expresses his desire to see his preferred heir placed on the Iron Throne. Despite the fact that “no queen has ever sat the Iron Throne,” his first-born daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) is the front-runner. Others want Viserys’ brother Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) to be the heir. The king’s potential new heir, the king’s new bride, also enters the picture. In a different scenario, Daemon stands in for Viserys just before he is ready to reveal the identity of his new successor and declares, “I am your heir.”
Viserys cousin Rhaenys Targaryen is heard explaining to the others that it is the normal flow of events, a woman would not inherit the iron throne. The older-looking Rhaenyra announces, “When I become the queen, I will institute a new system.” There are several glimpses of dragons expressing their superiority in the struggle for the Iron Throne among all of this, as well as hints regarding the civil war.
House of the Dragon is based on RR Martin’s book
House of the Dragon is based on RR Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood. It describes the beginning of House Targaryen’s demise as well as the circumstances that lead to the “Dance of the Dragons,” the Targaryen nation’s civil war, and it takes place two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones. The first season, which is set to be debuted in August, has ten episodes.
