Actor Will Smith assaulted comedian Chris Rock earlier this year during the Oscars 2022. Chris revealed at a recent stand-up performance that Will smacked him for the most amusing joke he had ever told. During the award show, Chris made fun of Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
During his most recent comedy engagement with Dave Chappelle in England, Chris said, “Did that s – – t hurt? Goddam right . . . the motherf – – ker hit me over a bulls – – t joke, the nicest joke I ever told.”
Chris Rock joked about Jada Pinkett
After Chris joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head in March at the Oscars 2022, Will stepped out to the stage and hit him. Chris had joked, “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2,” in reference to Demi Moore’s 1997 movie GI Jane, in which Jordan O’Neil, a Navy Seal recruit, shaved her head. A few years ago, Jada disclosed on her talk programme that she decided to shave her head after learning she had the autoimmune disease alopecia areata.
Will was prohibited from going to any Academy Award ceremony for the following ten years after the incident. When asked why he did not apologise to Chris after his winning speech, Will responded in a YouTube video he posted in July. Will acknowledged the lack of an instant apology and remarked, “I was fogged out by that moment.
He apologised to the public in an Instagram post
Will had gotten in touch with Chris to inquire about the occasion, but the actor asserted that Chris wasn’t yet prepared to meet with him. In the five-minute movie, he also expressed his regret to Chris and others, including Rose Rock, Chris’ mother. With the exception of the YouTube video, Will has largely been silent about the confrontation. A few days after the Oscars ceremony, he apologised to the public in an Instagram post.
