Black Panther 2 Trailer, Cast, Release Date, Story Breakdown and more

Chadwick Boseman’s horrific death has left a big hole in the globe, both in terms of the very real loss and his abrupt departure from the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, as they say, the show must go on, and Black Panther 2, officially known as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is presently in production.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is directed by Ryan Coogler. He collaborated with Joe Robert Cole to write the screenplay. We are confident that the Blip has likely had its own dreadful influence in addition to the significant changes that the first Black Panther brought about for the nation. As a result, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will present fans with a radically new Wakanda, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever seems to be a fascinating movie thanks to the appearance of some exciting new characters as well as the return of some well-known ones. For complete information on the storyline, characters, and more, continue reading.

Black Panther 2- Trailer

Ahead of its online debut on July 23, 2022, the first official trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuted at San Diego Comic-Con. The video, which features Tems singing a song of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “No Woman No Cry” combined with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright,” displays the stunning graphics of the movie as Wakanda mourns the loss of King T’Challa and Namor gets Atlantis ready for battle. One of Wakanda’s female citizens will be assuming the role of the Black Panther in the end of the trailer.

Black Panther 2- Cast

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige declared T’Challa’s part would not be recast for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in December 2020. During Disney’s Investor’s Day session, Feige said, “Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally. His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends any iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for that reason that we will not recast the character.”

Even though the King might not be present in the narrative, the sequel has a large cast of previous characters. Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Tenoch Huerta, Michaela Coel, and Dominique Thorne are among the cast members of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Confirmed Characters

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will place more of an emphasis on the numerous supporting players from the previous film since it will not feature its iconic hero. Additionally, according to some reports, the movie will also introduce a few much anticipated iconic characters; however, we’ll get to that later. The returning characters come first:

1. Lupita Nyong’o- The former lover of T’Challa and member of Wakanda’s War Dog spy network, Lupita Nyong’o, will return in the role of Nakia.

2. Danai Gurira- Danai Gurira will be seen as Okoye. Okoye is one of the most well-known characters introduced in Black Panther.

3. Florence Kasumba- The Dora Milaje member Ayo, played by Florence Kasumba, is about to make her acting debut. Ayo, who made his debut in Captain America: Civil War, is a ferocious and devoted warrior.

4. Martin Freeman- Everett K. Ross, a CIA operative who was spared by T’Challa, will be played by Martin Freeman once more. Ross may have returned to America at the conclusion of Black Panther, but it’s unclear if he also perished in Avengers: Infinity War’s Snap.

5. Letitia Wright- In the sequel, Letitia Wright will return as Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister. Shuri, one of the MCU’s most intelligent characters, creates Wakanda’s technological innovations.

6. Winston Duke- M’Baku, the head of Wakanda’s mountain tribe, the Jabari, will make an appearance as Winston Duke. M’Baku is a skilled fighter and occasionally T’Challa’s ally. He may not be a superhuman like his king, but he’s still a pretty formidable force.

7. Michael B. Jordan- Erik Killmonger, the villain in Black Panther, was played by Michael B. Jordan, who has previously stated that he would be willing to return to the MCU if requested. The fans would love to see him back, but we don’t know if anyone has asked him yet.

New Characters

Dominique Thorne will portray Riri Williams, a superhero known as Ironheart, in terms of new characters. Ironheart, a relatively recent addition to the comics, has gained a lot of popularity since her introduction, and it appears that the character will play a significant role in the MCU. Additionally, Thorne will portray Riri in a Disney+ Ironheart series.

The King of Atlantis, Namor the Sub-Mariner, will be portrayed by Tenoch Huerta. Fans have been waiting patiently for the legendary anti-hero to appear in the MCU for a very, very long time.

Aneka, who serves as the Dora Milaje’s battle teacher in comic books, will be portrayed by Michaela Coel.

Black Panther 2- Release Date

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on November 11, 2022. Prior to being set for its current November release date, the movie’s initial release dates were May 6, 2022, and then July 8, 2022.

The movie had to be modified as a result of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic and unexpected death, which caused a delay in production. Currently, it appears that the movie will make its scheduled release date with a highly promising star-studded ensemble.

Black Panther 2- Story Breakdown

The script for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has already revealed that it would be an emotional experience. The ensemble as a whole has discussed how unusual it is to make this movie without the adored star.

Winston Duke admitted to Collider in July 2021 that reading the script had been “extremely emotional.” “It was difficult to pack everything and return to the set. But now that we’ve become somewhat of a family, we all grieve together and are creating something very unique.”

The official plot synopsis from Marvel Studios reads:

In Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.

In Iron Man 2 and Avengers: Endgame, there were easter eggs and casual remarks that hinted at the existence of Atlantis. In the comic books, there have been previous wars between Wakanda and Atlantis, which had very terrible repercussions. It will undoubtedly be quite a visual show if this ends up being the true narrative of the future movie. However, because Wakanda is a landlocked country, it is unclear how the Atlanteans intend to launch their attack. However, since it didn’t stop them in the comics, they’re likely to succeed here as well.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, in any case, looks to be an incredible tale. Let’s hope the movie delivers on its promise. Stay tuned for more since we’ll keep this post updated with the most recent information!
