George Clooney refers to himself as “the best Batman”

Most commentators don’t consider George Clooney to be one of the contenders for the best Batman depiction. The actor, even if just in joke, disagrees. Ben Affleck, who played the famous superhero in the DC Extended Universe, had “nothing on him,” according to George. He recently referred to himself as the best Batman. George had portrayed the cape-wearing vigilante in the critically and financially disastrous Batman & Robin.

George recently attended the Roybal Film and Television Magnet’s opening, a school for performers and people in the entertainment industry. George made jokes about the actor’s scholastic background and his notorious depiction of Batman in the 1997 film Batman & Robin while speaking at the occasion.

He responds, “Ben Affleck? He’s the best available one.” He then takes a pause and looks at the audience member who suggested Ben and adds, “Really though, Ben Affleck, really? He’s got nothing on me!” Ben Affleck has played Batman in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Justice League and in a cameo in Suicide Squad. He will reprise his role in The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, both releasing next year.

George’s performance received criticism

Batman & Robin, directed by George, was criticised for having an excessively campy tone and not taking the genre seriously enough. It is frequently ranked as one of the worst movies ever made. George’s performance received criticism as well, and his Batsuit in especially came under fire for the odd appearance of nipples on it. Adam West, Michael Keaton, and Val Kilmer had all performed the part on the big screen before George donned the cape and cowl. Since then, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and most recently Robert Pattinson in The Batman have all taken on the role.
