Don’t Worry Darling features more actors than only Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, and Florence Pugh. Nick Kroll made the decision to document the raucous celebration from the movie’s recent debut at the 2022 Venice Film Festival on social media.
In a video uploaded on TikTok on September 6, the 44-year-old and co-star Sydney Chandler film their travel to the event as hundreds of fans desperately try to look into the car in an attempt to see one of the movie’s leads.
“POV: pulling up to the @dontworrydarlin premiere as just a supporting actor,” Nick Kroll captioned the post.
The League alum who stars in the video comically describes the fishbowl-like environment while making remarks about how disappointed the spectators must be to learn that he is inside.
“Not who you want, ladies,” he says as he passes the curious looky-loos. “Sorry, not Harry, not Olivia, not Florence.”
Nick Kroll continued, “Hi, you don’t know me. Nope, nope, nope.”
However, Sydney, 25, tried to look on the bright side, adding, “But hey, Nick and Syd! Pretty f–king col. You don’t know, but we’re pretty f–king cool.”
On September 5, Harry and Olivia, Gemma Chan, and Chris Pine attended the premiere of the upcoming thriller alongside Nick and Sydney. Harry and Olivia have been dating openly since January 2021. All eyes were on the Don’t Worry Darling actors. It is the most highly watched event of the festival amid allegations of BTS drama involving cast shake-ups and rumoured ongoing feuds.
At a press conference the day before, Olivia addressed the rumours of conflict among the group, stating she isn’t focused on the “endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there.”
“I mean, the internet feeds itself,” the film’s director said while on a panel. “I don’t feel the need to contribute and it’s sufficiently well-nourished.”
