Prince Charles thinks The Crown’s portrayal of him is far from reality

The Crown is one of the most popular shows on Netflix

One of the most popular shows on Netflix is called The Crown. It is about the Royal family. We have previously seen how a few royal family members have responded to the show based on their personal experiences and confirmed if they had watched it. The unusual comment made by Prince Charles about the popular programme was just made public by Scottish politician Anas Sarwar.

Josh O’Connor played the part of Prince Charles

Prince Charles mentioned the Netflix series while introducing himself to lawmakers at an event last year, according to Scottish minister Anas Sarwar, who was speaking at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022. This is one of the few references the Prince of Wales has made to the programme. Josh O’Connor played the part of Prince Charles in seasons three and four of The Crown.

Sarwar recalled that Prince Charles had made a reference to the programme “He came over and went, ‘Hello, nice to meet you all. I’m nowhere near how they portray me on Netflix”, via The Daily Mail.

The politician insisted that it struck him as a unique way to introduce himself. The Scottish minister continued by mentioning the possible consequences of disclosing their private conversation’s specifics.

Prince Harry previously discussed the programme

Prince Harry previously discussed the programme with James Corden and said that it gives a general impression of the royal lifestyle and the demands of duty. Princess Eugenie, a granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex are also said to have seen the programme.

Josh O’Connor’s performance as the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on the popular series earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series last year, despite the Prince of Wales’ disapproval of his portrayal on the show. Regarding the upcoming Season 5 of The Crown, Dominic West will now play Prince Charles, and Elizabeth Debicki will take on the role of Princess Diana. Jonathan Pryce will play Prince Philip, and Imelda Staunton will play the Queen in the programme.
