DC is learning from the house of MARVEL as they plan to make the Batverse work with the addition of The Penguin. The Batman became a box office hit as it collected $770 Million last year, fans were expecting further news from the franchise.
As Reeves spoke with Collider, He expressed that he is extremely excited about the movie as building a Batverse has been his ‘Passion Project’.

Reeves stated when he was asked if Reeves will be shooting any films this year,, “I’m not going to answer that question, but we are working on a movie. I’ll put it to you that way.” But then he added, “We’re deep in it and my partner and I are writing, Mattson [Tomlin] and I are writing, and it’s really exciting, and I’m really excited about what we’re doing.” Tomlin also worked with Reeves on The Batman’s script.
Matt Reeves also confirms that Pattinson will be returning as The Defender Of Gotham City in his interaction with the Collider.
“Really excited to be doing that with Rob, because I just think he’s such a special person and actor.” Reeves added.

Now, Reeves also expressed some plans regarding The Penguin, “We are very, very soon going to start shooting The Penguin with Colin. That is super exciting.”
A baby step indeed towards the Batverse, but a fruitful one. In an interview with Colin Farrel, he shared, ” I read the first episode, which is just so tasty and so unusual as the character was on the page and what Matt Reeves kind of envisioned when he was thinking of this iteration of the bang-up of Oz. So yeah, it’ll be, I think, six or eight hours.”
There is no specified date regarding the release of Batman 2 or The Penguin, but we can expect something very soon.
