After robbing Kim Kardashian of jewellery valued at millions of dollars, the criminal played the Uno reverse card on the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ actress while placing the blame on her.
Yunis Abbas was one of the perpetrators of the 2016 Paris hotel heist that resulted in the theft of $10 million in jewellery from reality TV star Kim, 41, including a $4 million 20-carat engagement ring given to her by her now-ex-husband Kanye West.
Kim Kardashian was chained, gagged, and held at gunpoint
During the terrifying encounter, Kim was chained, gagged, and held at gunpoint as a group of masked men plundered her jewellery boxes and made off with a large quantity of diamonds and two cell phones. After frightening the building concierge, Abdulrahman, with a knife, they were able to enter her hotel room. And now Yunis, who served nearly two years in prison for his part in the theft, is blaming the celebrity, claiming Kim’s display of wealth inspired the robbery.
He said, “Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care.”
He proceeded by advising celebrities to “be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it” when they publicly display their money online.
The gang found the star via the Internet
Yunis, one of the 12 people charged in connection with the event, claimed that the gang found the star via the Internet. He described how, while the gang ransacked the star’s room, he remained downstairs.
“Madame Kardashian’s secretary called for help. But she called 911 in the United States, which scared us, which made them lose a lot of time. And when we got out, there was a bunch of police outside who didn’t know anything about the robbery,” he added.
