Venom: Let There Be Carnage outperformed expectations at the US Box Office

The Sony Pictures sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage outperformed expectations at the US Box Office this past weekend. Tom Hardy plays the major character in the movie, which earned an estimated $90.1 million this weekend in the US. According to Comscore data, the sum is the largest in the history of the epidemic era and the second largest ever for the month of October. This news is fantastic for Indian theatres, as Venom 2 is anticipated to increase attendance.

Michelle Williams will return to the movie

Michelle Williams will return to the movie in her first-film role, while Naomie Harris, who appeared briefly as Shriek in the trailer, will play a new character. Hardy’s involvement in this movie will make it more unique because, in addition to reprising his superhero role, he also gets his first writing credit for a significant project. The movie will be released in 4 different languages—Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu—in 3D, IMAX, and 4DX.

The upcoming Venom film was scheduled to arrive in theatres in October 2020

Despite receiving negative reviews, Venom made over $850 million (about Rs. 6,219 crores) globally, with $213.5 million (roughly Rs. 1,562 crores) from US and Canadian theatres and $269 million (roughly Rs. 1,968 crores) from Chinese theatres. Venom’s release date has already been altered previously. The upcoming Venom film, which was originally scheduled to arrive in theatres in October 2020, was postponed initially to June 2021, then to September 2021, before being moved up to October 15 as a result of an increase in coronavirus cases in the US caused by the extremely contagious Delta form.

It was generally anticipated that Venom: Let There Be Carnage would be further delayed, especially in light of Paramount Pictures decision to put the Tom Cruise-starring Top Gun: Maverick until 2022, but Sony Pictures has chosen to stick rather than turn.
