U.S. President Joe Biden’s eldest granddaughter Naomi Biden recently got married to Peter Neal at the South Lawns of the White House. This left many inquisitive about who is Peter Neal and when did his journey with Naomi Biden start? In this article, we shall put a rest to these unanswered questions.
Early Beginnings
Born on April 17, 1997, in Los Angeles, Peter George Heermann Neal and his family would soon shift to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He started his school life at Jackson Hole Community School. He would later proceed to attend Burke Mountain Academy to pursue his passion of skiing.
Peter also received a bachelor’s degree in political communications from George Washington University in addition to his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022.
Peter has three siblings – Eliot Neal, Betsy Neal and Willie Neal. Willie unfortunately passed away in 2009 at the age of 19 in a tragic roller-skiing accident. Peter’s mother, Mary Neal is also the author of two books – To Heaven and Back: A Doctor’s Extraordinary Account of Her Death, Heaven, Angels, and Life Again: A True Story and 7 Lessons from Heaven: How Dying Taught Me to Live a Joy-Filled Life.
How did the Couple’s path cross each other?
Peter and Naomi first met each other all the way back in 2018. They were introduced to each other through a mutual friend and a date was soon set up. The couple haven’t looked back ever since.
A News Journey
The couple got married on the Southern Lawns of the White House on 19th November, 2022. Naomi even tweeted her gratitude to President Biden for the opportunity to organize the wedding at the White House. President Biden only had words of joy and encouragement stating,
“It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself. Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband and we are honoured to welcome him to our family…We wish them days full of laughter and a love that grows deeper with every passing year’. – President Biden
This wasn’t Peter’s first public appearance with Naomi by any means. He was an attendee at President Biden’s presidential election party and presidential inauguration in 2021. In fact, he was a White House intern under the Obama-Biden administration as well as Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Peter’s political interest doesn’t stop there. Peter and Naomi collectively launched My CARES Act Benefits – an online accessory that guides small businesses in configuring their eligibility for various forms of assistance amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
