Ashley McBryde arrived on the “CBS Mornings” set with the expectation that she would only discuss new music. On Thursday morning, Grand Ole Opry member Garth Brooks gave Ashley the surprise of a lifetime on live television by inviting her to join the Opry. McBryde was in New York City talking about her new album and the worse than expected horse tragedy.

When Brooks emerged via video from the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville, McBryde was in the middle of a CBS Mornings interview in favour of her brand-new project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville.

“What’s going on?” Moments after Brooks practically walked into her live interview from the Opry House in Nashville, McBryde questioned accordingly.

Brooks Officially Invited Ashley McBryde To Opry

Appearing completely stunned, McBryde greeted Brooks as he told her, “I’m here for a proposal.” Noticeably confused, McBryde replied, “Oh?”

“Miss Ashley, this is part of a family that keeps growing. You know where we’re at. We’re at the Grand Ole Opry. I’m standing in the circle of wood right now where you stand. Miss Ashley McBryde, on behalf of the Opry and myself as an Opry member, I’m gonna try not to cry, we would love for you to consider becoming the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

She accepted humbly while crying. “It would be the greatest honour and source of happiness in my life,” McBryde spoke while wiping her eyes of tears.

Brooks continues, “Pretty cool. It’s the longest living family in music history. You belong in it. We need you. You’ll make it stronger for decades to come. I love you! Congratulations! Couldn’t happen to a sweeter person.”

Ashley McBryde Emotionally Expressed Her Feeling

“Winning Grammys and being a member of the Opry are the two greatest things that could ever happen to you as an entertainer. I’ve always said I would earn it. This is a surreal moment,” McBryde states.

The Induction For Ashley McBryde 

Opry organisers intend to make an announcement about the induction date soon.

In celebration of her brand-new collaborative concept album, “Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville,” McBryde made an appearance on CBS on Thursday. Generally these album features cameos by Brothers Osborne, Caylee Hammack, Brandy Clark, and other well-drawn small-town folk.

“Grammys, CMAS, they’re all gonna fade. This won’t,” he reminded McBryde. “This will be until the day they put you in the ground you will be part of the coolest show on the planet.”

Why Ashley Invited To Opry 

And after years of hard-earned success in country music, she receives an Opry invitation. The tattooed and raspy-voiced storyteller, who is from Arkansas, made her debut at local pubs with a selection of self-released tunes. In 2017, she signed a recording contract with Warner Music Nashville. Since then, she has become popular among new listeners thanks to her distinctive brand of songwriting, which straddles rural tall tales and tenderhearted truths.

Ashley McBryde Records 

She is a CMA and ACM Award winner and is well-known for songs including “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” “One Night Standards,” and the number-one country radio duet “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Carly Pearce. After that in the summer of 2017, she debuted on the Opry.

After all she joins the legendary session musician Charlie McCoy, the wild-haired troubadour Jamey Johnson, and “The Gambler” author Don Schlitz as the fourth artist to earn an Opry invitation this year.

Ashley Got Surprised 

Hence, at the end of the episode, McBryde’s mother who had been waiting in the green room joined her on set as her next surprise.

Brooks described what it means to be a member of the esteemed organisation before saying goodbye.
