Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman made Marvel fans squeal with delight when it was revealed in a video that Wolverine is returning in the upcoming Shawn Levy flick, as if we weren’t already “EXcited” enough for Deadpool 3. Reynolds discussed his anticipation and trepidation for his close friend to reprise his role as Wolverine in the eagerly anticipated threequel in an interview with Forbes.

Ryan Reynolds On Jackman
“I couldn’t be more excited. I mean, especially to do it this way. Ultimately, I get to work with some of my closest friends in the world and that doesn’t happen every day working in this business,” Hugh Jackman was praised by Reynolds, who then said that he is “thrilled” for the actor. Concerning the anxiety associated with such significant revelations, Reynolds confided, “I’ve been sitting on those couple of teasers for a few weeks now. It’s one of those moments where you’re hitting send or a tweet or a post – your hand is shaking when you’re messing with the zeitgeist in a way like that. It’s been amazing.”

Ryan Reynolds Feels Like Fans
And when it comes to Wolverine’s appearance in Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds had the same feelings as MCU fans.
"I feel the same way that the fans do, though. I feel as excited that this character is coming back for another ride, particularly in this context. I think it's something that people have wanted for a long time, to get this pairing up on the big screen, and that's what we aim to do."
Ryan Reynolds Has Championed Jackman’s Return
Regarding Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, Reynolds has maintained his tongue firmly in his cheek, casually asking the Australian actor in the initial announcement video whether he wanted to be in the movie. In a later video, the two appear to give away the plot of the film as “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham! plays over their conversation.
Reynolds’ enthusiasm to deliver the Deadpool 3 news is sure to come as a pleasant assurance that he is as big a fan of the character as audiences themselves, even though they have played with fans’ expectations of what’s to come from Jackman’s Wolverine return.

Deadpool 3 Release Date
Deadpool 3 will be released on 6th September 2024. The film’s release date was confirmed in September 2022 in a video from star Ryan Reynolds.
