Every year, The National Dog Show rings in the festive spirit of Thanksgiving. This year is no different. Founded in 1879, the show embodies a lot of historical weightage. Ever-since 1933, the show has been an annual phenomenon hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia.
What can you expect?
This year’s show will feature over 1500 dogs and 200 various dog breeds. Claire the Scottish Deerhound reigned victorious by claiming the Best Show Champion for the 2020 and 2021 edition of the National Dog Show. She made her mark in history by becoming the show’s first repeat winner.
The dogs are divided into the following seven categories – toy dogs, terrier dogs, working dogs, sporting dogs, non-sporting dogs, herding dogs and hound dogs.
Who will be hosting the event?
David Frei and Seinfeld star John O’Hurley will reclaim their host duties for this year’s event. The duo has been hosting this event for decades and have become synonymous with the National Dog Show.

What is the Prize for the Winner of the National Dog Show?
As per traditions, the winning dog is awarded The Westminster Legend Trophy, which is a hand-engraved crystal bowl.

When is The National Dog Show 2022?
The event will be telecasted on 24th November, directly after Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will be a 2-hour event, streaming from 12 PM (Eastern Standard Time) to 2 PM.
