What’s Whitney Expressed To Barbara Thore
According to a Thursday Instagram post by Whitney Thore, Barbara, who was most known for playing Whitney Thore’s mother on the TLC reality series, passed away from cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Whitney wrote alongside a video montage of photos of her mom and family over the years.
"My mother died last night just as the credits rolled on her favorite movie. Dad, Hunter, and I held her as she took her last breaths. It was 10:32pm, the same exact time she brought me into this world almost forty years ago."
Whitney’s shared a touching tribute to her mom, writing: “My mother is our family’s greatest gift. We could never love, revere, or value another person more.”
Barbara Thore Suffering From Amyloid Angiopathy
Whitney disclosed that her mother suffered from cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
'My mom had cerebral amyloid angiopathy, which is an untreatable progressive condition caused by proteins in the blood vessels of the brain that can cause dementia, seizures, or like in my mom’s case, brain bleeding (hemorrhagic strokes).'
'When mom had her first stroke in 2017, we were told of this and we knew that more strokes would eventually be inevitable. Mom’s second stroke was December 28, 2021 and her last was November 13, 2022.'
About ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’ Show
My Big Fat Fabulous Life, which debuted on TLC in 2015, introduced viewers to Whitney and her mother. Every season of the show, which had its tenth season finale air in October 2022, heavily featured Barbara.
Whitney’s battles with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which initially caused her to gain over 100 pounds in just a few years, were chronicled on the show.
She later lost a sizable portion of that weight, but she has emphasised both on and off the show that she is more concerned with her mental health and discovering how to accept her body than with her size or weight.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, her husband Glenn, and their son Hunter, who both frequently appear on the reality series.
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star also expressed gratitude to her mom’s supporters for their support over the years. She exclaimed, “She revelled in her newfound television profession more than anyone can convey.” She had a great sense of excitement and purpose as a result, and she had something to anticipate each time the crew arrived.
